Cromford Canal – a beautiful scenic walk
Cromford Canal in Matlock is great place to visit for a leisurely stroll, to enjoy the calming canal and the peace and quiet.
Visitors can walk the length of the canal to find the pleasant Arkwright’s Mill, where you can enjoy the charming art galleries and take a break in the welcoming cafes.
The scenery along the canal is brilliant, and spans over 14 miles, with 14 locks. The Canal is looked after by a charitable organisation called the Friends of the Cromford Canal who run a boat from Cromford Wharf to Leawood Pumphouse.
