Birchwood Farm is a lovely holiday retreat for the whole family. On the edge of the Peak District in Derbyshire, and set in an area of outstanding beauty on the hills above the Derwent Valley, this working farm has long been associated with holiday makers since the 1920’s.Birchwood Farm is located just 7.5 miles from Matlock itself, where you might stock up on supplies at the Sainsbury’s or Somerfield which can be found there. Of course the site has a well -stocked shop for last minute provisions and the owners will readily order a paper for you! If, however, you are not in the mood for cooking, then only a 20 minute walk, or 5 minute drive, will take you to the nearest pub which serves meals.  Birchwood Farm is surrounded by plenty of woods, a sight not to be missed in the Spring time when the beautiful bluebells can be admired, and ,although there is no fishing on the site, places to fish can be found nearby. Set on Midshires Way, leading on to High Peak Trail, Birchwood Farm is a haven for ramblers and cyclists alike.
